Fishing for dynamic steelhead and king salmon on coastal streams and moutain rivers, the Nestucca and Santiam Rivers are where we call home. We fish from our custom outfitted and heated jet boat and drift boat, as well as very exclusive walk-in trips to out of the way places. All types of wildlife can be seen riverside, including deer, elk, beaver, river otter, and the occasional bald eagle, along with the changing colors of the season.
     Winter steelhead trips on the Nestucca River begin in late December, with the peak of the hatchery returns arriving in January. Immediatly following are the wild winter steelhead, big, strong and healthy, these are considered by many to be the best-of-the-best. These wild fish are catch and release only, with average sizes in the 12-14 lb range and exceptional fish nearing and breaking the 20lb mark. Fishing for the wild steelhead remains excellent through April. Note: All wild steelhead must be released by law. However, photos and measurements can always be taken to preserve the moment.
     In late April, the move is made to summer steelhead and spring chinook which grow in numbers through May and maintain strength through July. The mainstem Santiam, along with both forks, offer great diversity in water and benifit from strong salmon and steelhead hatchery programs.
     Last but not least, come the fall chinook the largest fish of the year. We'll primarily bobber fish the quiet tidewater stretches of the costal rivers, moving upriver with the fall rains. Fishing gets strong in mid September and continues through all of November. Kings average 20-40lbs, with fish over 50lbs not at all uncommon.
