2018…

We are near the end of an old year, and heading into the new.  2017 was full of events for us.  Some good, some not so much, and plenty of so,so in between.  Way too many things to list or talk about.  We`ll just leave it at that.  As we spend time on the river, I`m sure there will plenty of stories to tell.  Both about us, and about all of you.  The saying goes, everyone has a story to tell!  Trust us, when we tell you, we have many.

We are looking forward to a new year.  Yes, it is just another day, but it gives us some hope that things work out well.  Ready to spend as many days as we can on the water.  Fish, or no fish, we can`t think of anything better.

For now, Happy New Year!  We hope to see you all on the river with us, and in our boats.  Preferably with some fish on.cropped-021Website4.jpg

Happy Winter Solstice…

Winter Solstice, to us, was a special time.  Used to be anyway.  Times have sure changed, and it seems most people don`t even pay attention to historical holidays or moments anymore.  Either way, many times from the past to reflect on.

As for the rest of 2017…Due to a significant glitch in the matrix, our Christmas has been cancelled around here.  So, we will catch you all down the road, in 2018.

Merry Christmas!

The big holiday event is coming up directly.  Many will be out and about, traveling, and visiting family and friends.

We will be starting our Steelhead season, working here and there on various things, and doing lots and lots of cooking.  Hoping the weather is good, and we some normal patterns.  The cold inversion is supposed to leave today, and off and on rain.  Fantastic!

All in all, we will be busy, and focused on all of the newness.  Plenty of changes around here for sure.  Looking forward to the next weekend, just doing our thing, as our schedule allows.

Wishing all, a very, Merry Christmas!DSC00597

Happy Holidays…

Here we are.  December.

The middle of the holiday season.  Hustle and bustle all around.  Family and friends and the like.  Cool evenings and warm fires.

For us, somewhat of a difficult time, for various reasons.  We cook a ton, and give out warm well wishes to those that need it.  Other than that, our family is small, and we tend to just be relatively quiet.  This time is also special in ways too.  Winter Solstice is one in particular.  In itself, it is a magical day for us.  Also marking the beginnings of Winter Steelhead fishing.  To us, a very special fish!

Have a great holiday season, travel safe.  Eat well.  And, be Merry…blognatejosh2015#1

Happy Thanksgiving week to everyone.  As we round the corner into the holiday season, we are here, preparing for the winter and spring Steelhead season.  Wonderful fish!  Hope everyone travels safe, eats well, and enjoys some much needed time off.  We will be laying low, as we always do.  Nothing special, other than sharing the love to our family of fishermen.Spring_2_Oregon_Guided_Fishing

Winter Steelhead Fishing…

We are getting close to wrapping up our Fall King Salmon season.  Been a very interesting one, that is for sure.  A ton of ups and downs all the way around.  The summer and early fall crabbing was absolutely amazing.

As we head into the holiday season, Winter and Spring Steelhead season comes with it.  We`ll start somewhere around Christmas time, and go well into April.  The calendar is sitting here, and ready for you!  If you would like to come over and spend a day or more with us on the river, get in touch.  We`ll get it all set up, and go have some fun…………

Labor Day Weekend…

The masses are here at the beach.  Closed roads, closed parking lots, massive grid lock, and whatever else you can think of.  Seems most ran to the beach for the long weekend.  Beating the heat, no doubt, but getting away from the smoke is nearly impossible.  Super stale air.  No breeze, gloomy, and just down right uncomfortable…

On the lighter side, fishing is picking up.  Should get better as soon as we see some clouds and cooler temperatures.  The cool days sure sound good.  Crabbing in all of the bays is excellent.  In fact, some of the very best we have ever seen, and many would tell you the same.  We are looking forward to Autumn for sure.  Cooler days, and able to relax some from the heat tension.

Been working on our new guide boat too.  She has been named the SS Donald J Trump.  She is 12 feet long, and has a riveted hull.  15 horses of massive power.  She has a new graph, with a dead battery.  Clamp on navigation lighting, an clamp on seating.  Just enough room for a small dog, or a cat in our case.  She has freshly wrapped oars, with no oar locks, and we can`t forget an entirely new wiring harness on the trailer.  That story is a little long.  She is all parked and ready to go, except for the extensive list of things to do, once the parts arrive.

We are actually just helping out a long time customer an friend.  Ain`t she a beauty? !!!! Can`t forget the shop rag flag!  She`ll be profiling in tidewater soon.  If you see her, make sure to salute.P1010076
